Let me tell you
a little bit about my journey...
My name is Araceli. I'm a Camera and Lighting Assistant for Media Productions. I also think of myself as a visual artist, grounded optimist, avid eater, adventure seeker and animal lover.
My story is one of many restarts and twists. I am originally from Luanda, Angola, and moved to Manchester in 2014 to pursue a higher degree in the construction sector, at the time. Due to differences in educational grading systems, I spent eventually my first three years retaking college in Manchester.
The following two years, I worked for a Fit Out Company as a Trainee Project Manager. I traveled across England to many different sites, allowing me to see different parts of this island and meet a variety of great people. It was a really exciting and enriching experience for me.
After finishing my timed contract, I felt the need to pursue something different, and without having a clear idea, I reflected on the hours and hours I would naturally spend watching Films, Documentaries, Music Videos, TV Series, Interviews, etc.
Solidifying my career change, in September 2020, I began my Bachelor’s degree in TV and Film production, eventually specializing in Camera and Lighting, and graduating summer of 2023 from Manchester Film School.
Since then, I have been a freelancer in the TV & Film Industry, having worked on big music videos for Aitch, Meekz, and Natasha Hamilton, in Commercials for EA Sports FC and Boost Drinks, and plenty of short films and many other creative projects, all as a 2AC, Camera Trainee, Junior Gaffer, Spark, or a Runner.
Looking towards the future, I'm looking forward to launching my own photography portfolio as well as continuing to work as a Camera and Lighting Technician on more motion picture projects.
